second half 19th century, 140 x 113 cm, East Caucasus, Kuba

This very rare yellow-ground Perepedil was published by Engelhardt as early as 1990. The intensity of its luminous colours and its perfection of drawing are striking features. Eva Engelhardt purchased the rug in New York, allegedly from Berdj Abadjian.
