Title: Oil painting Still life with food Oleksandr Gukalov Description: NoAAA5549The Oil painting on canvas titled "Still life with food" presents a bold and expressive still life that transforms ordinary household objects into a dynamic composition filled with rhythm, contrast, and symbolism. With its stylized forms, vibrant colors, and striking arrangement, the work invites viewers into a domestic interior that is at once familiar and abstract, reflecting not only the materiality of everyday life but also the artist's interpretative vision of shape, space, and texture. At the heart of the composition lies a round table, its dark green surface acting as the stage for the interplay of vessels, utensils, and food. On this table, a tall, cylindrical vessel stands upright, painted in earthy brown tones with a textured surface that suggests wood or clay. Its verticality anchors the piece, contrasting with the softer, rounded forms of the bowls and plates scattered nearby. The eye is then drawn to the large white goblet in the foreground, tilted slightly forward, inside which rest two red fruits. Their vibrant crimson hue bursts forth against the muted whites and darker tones, becoming a symbol of vitality and abundance within an otherwise restrained domestic setting. To the right, another white vessel sits at an angle, partially obscured by the framing of the chairs, holding green objects-possibly vegetables or herbs-suggesting nourishment and life. Next to it, the carefully folded white cloth draped across the table adds a sense of movement, its sweeping folds providing contrast to the solidity of the objects around it. The artist has highlighted its presence, not as a mere accessory but as a compositional element, bridging the divide between the objects on the table and the viewer's space beyond it. On the left side of the table, a silver goblet or chalice stands upright, painted in bright metallic tones that capture light and lend a sense of elegance to the otherwise modest collection. Beside it rests a slice of bread with a pink spread, possibly meat or fruit preserves, a detail that speaks of everyday simplicity and sustenance. The juxtaposition of this humble food with the grander forms of goblets and vessels underscores the coexistence of the mundane and the ceremonial within the domestic sphere.*** ABOUT THIS PAINTING **** TITLE: "Still life with food" - Based on Andre Derain* ARTISTS: Oleksandr Gukalov* SIZE: 60x60 cm/23.62x23.62 inches'* MEDIUM: oil, canvas* HAND PAINTED: Original painting from our collection* CONDITION: we tried to convey the maximum information with the help of photos about this product About the artists: Alexander GukalovAfter graduating from Lviv Polytechnic, he was engaged in scientific work.
