Title: Oil painting Daffodils in vase Ivan Kovalenko Description: NoKoval 246The Oil painting on canvas titled "Daffodils in vase" is a vibrant celebration of springtime, a composition that captures the joyful renewal of nature through its floral subjects and the delicate balance between the interior still life and the exterior landscape. At the center of the artwork stands a clear glass vase filled with radiant yellow daffodils, their petals luminous and textured, with bursts of golden yellow trumpets surrounded by paler white edges. The daffodils appear freshly gathered, their stems visible through the transparent vessel, magnified and refracted by the play of water and glass. Their upward movement conveys vitality and freshness, as though they are still stretching toward the sun outside the window. Beside the daffodils rests a smaller earthenware pot brimming with a contrasting bouquet of blue blossoms, possibly hyacinths or scillas, their tiny petals spilling over in rich clusters of indigo and violet hues. This secondary bouquet enhances the composition with a harmony of colors, a gentle counterpoint to the warm yellows of the daffodils. The juxtaposition of the glass vase and the clay pot also underscores a dialogue between fragility and sturdiness, transparency and opacity, refinement and rustic simplicity. These vessels, placed close together on a table or windowsill, form the anchor of the composition, while their flowers animate the painting with their expressive forms. The background introduces another layer of meaning and atmosphere. Through the window, the viewer glimpses a pastoral scene: the soft outlines of a country house with a red roof, set against rolling hills tinged in muted tones of green, lavender, and earthy browns. The backdrop is intentionally blurred with gentle brushstrokes, keeping the focus on the flowers while still suggesting the expansive beauty of nature outside. This blending of inside and outside gives the painting its depth, as if the viewer is invited to look not only at the flowers but also beyond them, into a world awakened by spring. Light plays a crucial role throughout the canvas. It illuminates the daffodils, highlighting the layered texture of their petals with creamy whites and lemon yellows edged by subtle strokes of orange. The glass vase reflects and refracts light, creating luminous highlights and distorted reflections of stems within the water. The clay pot, in contrast, absorbs the light with its earthy matte finish, reinforcing the natural balance between brightness and depth.*** ABOUT THIS PAINTING **** TITLE: "Daffodils in vase" * ARTISTS: Ivan Kovalenko* SIZE: 50x50 cm/'19.68x19.68 inches' * MEDIUM: oil, canvas* HAND PAINTED: Original painting from our collection* CONDITION: we tried to convey the maximum information with the help of photos about this productAbout the artist: Born on March 20, 1953, in the city of Pidgorodn, Dnipropetrovsk region.
