Title: Oil painting The smell of peony flowers Oksana Ivanyuk Description: NoKalen 1591The oil painting on canvas titled "The Smell of Peony Flowers" bursts with vitality, color, and the sensory richness of blooming petals. A tribute to the fleeting beauty of nature captured in full bloom, the artwork radiates warmth and elegance through every expressive brushstroke. The composition centers on a lush bouquet of peonies arranged in a deep cobalt-blue vase that anchors the scene with its striking presence. From this vase springs a floral explosion of soft, rounded blooms - dense, opulent, and layered with pigment as if their fragrance could rise off the canvas. The peonies are rendered in bold, impressionistic fashion - some petals touched with pale blush, others tinged with velvety burgundy, golden cream, or even hints of lavender. Each flower feels alive, caught at the peak of its bloom with curling edges, cascading layers, and the kind of fullness that suggests they were gathered in the early hours of summer. The petals are textured with lavish strokes of oil, their sculptural thickness adding a palpable depth, almost tempting the viewer to reach out and touch their delicate forms. Green leaves swirl and twist among the flowers, painted in shades of emerald, jade, and lemon-lime, cutting through the richer reds and pinks with freshness and vibrancy. These verdant elements create movement and rhythm, guiding the eye in a circular motion through the bouquet. The painter's gestures are confident, loose, and intuitive, conveying the spontaneity of handpicked beauty rather than a tightly arranged formal bouquet. The background is a warm blend of beige and cream, with light touches of peach and honey that give the composition a subtle glow. This neutral backdrop allows the vibrant colors of the flowers and vase to shine even more intensely, offering contrast without distraction. The strokes are looser and broader in the background, giving the impression of faded wallpaper or sunlit walls, evoking a cozy, timeless interior bathed in quiet light. Beneath the bouquet, hints of a cloth or surface emerge in cool, watery blues and touches of white. It could be a table bathed in morning light or a draped linen catching shadows and reflections from the flowers above. The blue not only ties to the vase but also balances the warmth of the peonies, offering a visual coolness that gently tempers the composition. This balance of hot and cool, intense and calm, is one of the hallmarks of the painting's emotional impact.*** ABOUT THIS PAINTING **** TITLE: "The smell of peony flowers"* ARTISTS: Oksana Ivanyuk* SIZE: 90x80 cm/'35.54x31.49 inches'* MEDIUM: oil, canvas* HAND PAINTED: Original painting from our collection* CONDITION: Photos provide accurate information about the product.About the artist: Oksana Ivanyuk was born in 1964 in Rivne region.
