Description

A pair of Rococo Revival two-light sconces crafted from gilt bronze. Each sconce features an oval backplate elaborately decorated with acanthus leaves, scrolls, and rocaille motifs characteristic of the Rococo style, reinterpreted in the 19th century. From the backplate, two curved arms extend, terminating in faux-candle sleeves designed to hold small bulbs. The sconces exhibit a richly textured surface with a warm, aged patina. Wiring is present but untested. The overall design suggests a late 19th to early 20th-century manufacture, perfect for adding an antique and ornate touch to a traditional interior.
