  • Description: [The New Pictorial Map of London]. This map is commonly dated to the 1930s, however in this edition a note states "This is Waterloo Bridge - the New One". Work commenced on the new bridge in 1937 and it was opened to traffic in 1942. Earlier editions of this map show the bridge with a breach and works ongoing. We think this edition is likely a wartime publication, probably published upon or close to the opening of the new bridge to traffic in 1942. by Geographia Ltd.. Published c1942 - c1942 [no date, but the new Waterloo Bridge is noted (opened 1942), and Geographia's address is stated as 167 Fleet Street, to which they moved c1942. Antique colour pictorial city plan in card cover. Size 37 x 48 cm | 14.5 x 18.5 inches. Condition: Good; suitable for framing. Please check the scan for any blemishes prior to making your purchase.
