This OUTSTANDING cotton 1850's/1860's red, green, cheddar and white whig rose quilt is all hand appliqued and hand quilted, with a wonderful vine border.
It measures a generous 90" X 92" and is good condition, with the occasional light age stain, and the beginnings of some wear in the red fabrics (including in the binding), mostly confined to one quadrant of the quilt.
The hand quilting is SUPERB, with quilting around and within the applique and in straight line, rainbow, heart, and feathered designs in the background, all at an even 10-12 stitches to the inch.
The back is white, the hand stitched binding is solid red, and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue inside when you hold the quilt up to the light.
