This BEAUTIFUL cotton 1880's / 1890's red, white and indigo blue birds in the air quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted, with a nice indigo blue border. There are 1,392 triangle pieces.

It measures 72" X 80" and is in excellent condition, with a couple of small, inconspicuous spots (see pics) and no wear.
There is quilting around the piecework and in straight line designs in the background, all at an even 12 stitches to the inch.
The back is white, the hand stitched binding is red, and the batting is thin. The quilt came out of Norfolk, Virginia.
The PATRIOTIC COLORS and GORGEOUS EARLY FABRICS make this 19th century beauty stand out!
