Einstein (Albert) Signed photograph

Striking vintage, sepia toned photograph of Albert Einstein and his second wife Elsa aboard the S.S. Kitano Maru during their trip from Marseille to Japan, signed and dated "Albert Einstein, October 1922" on the lower left corner of the image, mounted, framed and glazed.

***On October 8, 1922, Einstein and his wife, Elsa, had sailed from Marseille aboard the Japanese ocean liner SS Kitano Maru to begin a nearly six-month trip that would take them to Egypt, Ceylon (modern-day Sri Lanka), Singapore, Hong Kong and China before arriving in Japan on November 17. Einstein received official news of the Nobel Prize he won for his 1905 a 1905 paper on the photoelectric effect by telegram in Shanghai on November 13. His diary entry the next day makes no mention of the honor.
