Letter signed ("S: Marlborough") to an unidentified recipient, requesting that he intercede to force his servant, Mr Hughes, to sell her the leasehold property he owns on Pall Mall adjoining Marlborough House, enumerating the kindnesses that she had shown Hughes's father when he had been employed as her gardener at Blenheim ("I gave him a house to live in, that many gentlemen would have been glad of, in the park, where he had other advantages that made it like a small farm. And besides this, I gave him an uncommon salary") and claiming that her offer is far above the market price for "this miserable place" especially as it can no longer be used as an alehouse now she has had it closed down, three pages, folding marks, tape repairs to the last pages, remnants of previous mount, age-related discolouration, folio, Tunbridge Wells, 12 August 1733.
