C. 1800s. A charming Manning, Comanes compass gadget cane, featuring a cane-pressed wooden shaft and a metal ferrule. The handle is formed as a hinged brass case housing a mapping compass. These canes are also known as marching or military mapping canes. The cane has light surface scratching to the shaft and minor denting to the ferrule from use; overall in very good condition. 38" Length. Condition: (Very Good). Dimensions: 38" Length.
