This is a 1920s vintage square skirt, hand-tooled leather saddle in a rich mahogany-brown finish. While still fully functional/serviceable as a riding saddle, it would best make a beautiful addition to your home or office decor. The leather and hardware are in very good condition. The saddle strings are fragile but original!
Saddle Maker History:
The HH Heiser Saddlery Company was a saddle shop in Denver, CO, founded by German immigrant Hermann H Heiser in 1874. Heiser's reputation as a craftsman preceded him, and his business grew quickly. By the 1900s, the company was known around the world. Heiser saddlery was acquired by Keyston Bros. Saddlery in 1950 who kept producing saddles in the late 1900s.
This saddle weighs 38lbs and is in excellent collectible antique condition.
