S.K. Duff is an art teacher, practicing artist and poet, with multiple exhibitions, collections, and publications to his credit. As an artist, Duff's work has been featured in galleries, solo shows, and museum exhibitions worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art and the prestigious Collector's Choice exhibition, where his works hung alongside those of Matisse and Picasso. As a writer, Duff has published close to a hundred poems, articles, reviews and short stories in over 100 of the country's leading literary journals including the Harvard Review, Chelsea, and Many Mountains Moving. Duff has also acted, directed and designed costumes professionally. S.K. began his career as a journalist and has worked as Global Creative Director for Reuters and helped to create a global art news network via Reuters and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
Duff is a certified art teacher, and was honored with the Governor's State Teachers Award as well as being named one of the top 100 teachers in America by the Walt Disney HAND Awards for creative teaching. Duff is currently the K-8 Art teacher at Hoboken Charter School and school-wide director of Service Learning. He also serves on the board of directors for both the Pierro Gallery of South Orange and the 1978 Maplewood Art Center. S.K. studied painting at New York Studio School; studied digital multimedia at School of Visual Arts; and graduated summa cum laude w/ a BFA from Ohio Wesleyan University in Fine Arts (painting) and Theatre (directing).
In 2016, Duff was selected by the State of NJ Commission on Holocaust / Genocide Education as the recipient of the annual Maud Dahme award. This award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated the moral courage and sense of humanity of an upstander in educating others.
