A dramatic desert map documenting travel writer and explorer Rosita Forbes’s daring 1920–21 expedition to the forbidden Senussi oasis of Kufra. Travelling disguised as an Arab woman named "Sitt Khadija" and accompanied by Ahmed Hassanein Bey, Forbes became the first European woman ever to reach Kufra, and only the second European. .
