Description
This antique stoneware bottle, likely produced in the Southeastern United States during the 19th century, features a bulbous, ovoid body tapering to a short neck with a thick, rolled rim. It is constructed without a handle. The glaze exhibits a mottled texture with varying tones from deep chocolate to lighter amber-brown, including visible kiln drips. The underside of the base shows dark, irregular markings, possibly characters or symbols in black ink or paint, though they are currently illegible due to wear and smudging. The unglazed base reveals a coarse, buff-colored clay body. Bid directly at Bid.Ziebarths.com for a reduced buyers premium (18%). Email info@ziebarths.com for questions about this item.
