Title: Oil painting When it gets dark Oksana Kalenyuk Description: NoAAA5221The oil painting on Canvas titled "When it Gets Dark" vividly captures the fleeting moment between daylight and twilight, when the last rays of the sun dance across the landscape, casting long shadows and bathing the countryside in hues of gold, violet, and indigo. The artist's impasto technique breathes life into each brushstroke, creating a rich, tactile surface that draws the viewer into a world that is both familiar and dreamlike. In the foreground, the golden fields dominate the scene, painted with thick layers of yellow, ochre, and hints of lavender that suggest the changing light of dusk. The brushstrokes are bold and spontaneous, conveying movement and energy, as if the warmth of the day is still pulsing through the earth. The fields are segmented by rustic wooden posts and rails, whose crooked angles and rough texture speak to a place shaped by time, work, and weather. These fences do not confine but rather guide the eye through the rolling terrain, leading the viewer toward the distant village and the soft hills beyond. Scattered across the middle ground are dark patches of black and crimson-perhaps livestock grazing in the evening calm or shadows lengthening across the field. Their presence, although abstracted, anchors the scene in rural life, grounding the color and composition in the daily rhythm of the land. Nestled near the horizon, a cluster of small houses with red rooftops peeks out from behind the trees. These cottages, modest and endearing, glow faintly under the dimming sky, their whitewashed walls reflecting the last hints of daylight. They suggest shelter, memory, and continuity-places where lights will soon flicker on and families will gather as the darkness falls. The trees on either side of the scene rise like sentinels, their foliage rendered in a palette of emerald, cobalt, and forest green, with accents of rust and flame red. Their textured canopies ripple with wind and light, creating a vibrant contrast to the calm of the fields. The shadows they cast are tinged with purples and blues, merging with the lavender hills in the background to create a dreamlike sense of depth and atmosphere.*** ABOUT THIS PAINTING **** TITLE: "When it gets dark"* ARTISTS: Oksana Kalenyuk* SIZE: 15x20 cm/5.90x7.87 inches'* MEDIUM: oil, canvas* HAND PAINTED: Original painting from our collection* CONDITION: we tried to convey the maximum information with the help of photos about this product About the artists: Kalenyuk Oksana was born in 1964 in Rivne region.
