Unsigned folk art oil on masonite portrait of a black cat wearing a collar with heart shaped pendant inscribed “James Rex,” rendered against a teal ground within an oval frame. Probably mid 20th century, executed in a naive or whimsical folk art style recalling Victorian pet portraiture. Visible image: approx. 9" x 7". Frame: approx. 13 1/4" x 11 1/4".
