Description

A substantial Italian Renaissance Revival console table, crafted from richly carved walnut. The rectangular top features a deep apron with intricate carved scrolling foliage and gadrooning. The table is supported by robust, ornate end standards, each adorned with a caryatid figure appearing to hold the weight of the tabletop, surrounded by further foliate and scroll carvings. Below the apron, an arcaded stretcher connects the two end supports, featuring turned balusters and detailed carved panels. The feet are stylized carved paw feet. The Renaissance Revival style is evident in the heavy carving, classical motifs, and robust construction. The wood has a warm, patinated finish. This piece would make a striking statement in an entryway or living space.

The finish is worn in areas.
