This elaborately decorated large 15th-century stoneware plate was produced in Wang Kalong kiln in Northern Thailand. The surface is prominently iron-glazed in taupe and black with a ten-petaled flower, surrounded by a smaller floral pattern around the rim. The underside of the rim features six panels, each with an abstract scroll pattern. It is thin, and remarkably light for its size.
