A finely detailed Japanese Satsuma pottery vessel dating to the early 20th century, hand-painted in polychrome enamels and extensive gilt. The exterior depicts animated karako (children) at play with attendants and a court lady among fans and seasonal motifs, while the interior is richly decorated with landscape reserves and florals against a dense moriage ground.
Produced in Japan during the late Meiji–TaishÅ era (circa 1910–1925) for the Western export market, this piece showcases the intricate raised enamel technique and lavish gold decoration associated with classic Satsuma ware.
