Late Qing Dynasty 19th to early 20th C. Tobacco Leaf Ginger Jar. Beautifully hand painted in the rich colors that influenced the Asian art deco movement.
Chinese exports catered to European and American tastes and influenced design trends. This gorgeous jar had fine hand painting, dotted slip work, gold trim, and of course the tobacco leaf and crane motif.
If you enjoyed the mysterious storyline of "˜The Last Emperor of China', this was made in China at that time.
Has no cracks or chips although it has aged with the interior showing dark glaze age. The last photo shows the makers mark on the bottom.
