Description
Renato Toso and Noti Massari's original vintage Tinta pendant light is made of Murano glass in Italy. Hand blown glass with multicolor murrine. Very good vintage condition. No chips or cracks.
. Renato Toso (1940) and Noti Massari (1939), both Venetians by birth, culture, and choice, received their architecture degrees from Carlo Scarpa's (1906-1978) class in 1967 and got hitched the following year. Since then, they have built an architecture, engineering, and design studio inside the Venetian Lagoon with the help of their kids. At the Fratelli Toso 1854 glass works, which was a pioneer in embracing art glass after the fall of the Republic of Venice, they gained their first experience. They gradually started working with different designers, bringing the Murano island's skill to mass manufacturing. Their skills have been put to use on lighting projects for Vistosi, Artemide, Foscarini, Venini, and Leucos, among other Italian furniture and interior design firms. Many conferences, performances, and exhibitions, including those at the Palazzo Grassi and the Querini Stampalia Foundation in Venice, the Louvre in Paris, and the Museum of Modern Art, have featured them. The Palazzo Grassi and the Querini Stampalia Foundation in Venice, as well as group exhibitions at the Louvre in Paris, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Corning Glass Museums in New York, are just a few of the conferences, presentations, and exhibitions in which they have taken part. The first prize at the Venice Biennale, prizes at the Milan Triennale's 12th edition, and the national design competition in Trieste are among the honors they have received. They have been creating architectural plans and carrying out construction work for a Benedictine monastery in Tanzania since 2002.
