This dynamic scene depicts a dramatic hunting expedition in colonial India, with hunters on horseback and an elephant confronting a bear. The work is based on the original designs of Capt. Thomas Williamson and engraved by Samuel Howitt for the celebrated volume Oriental Field Sports.
