This is a copy of van Huysum's landscape painting Rest on the Flight into Egypt. The original was sold at Sotheby's Old Masters sale in January!

Jan van Huysum (1682-1749) was the most famous member of the Van Huysum family of artists during the Dutch Golden Age of the 17th/18th century; Jan van Huysum's work set the trend for flower painting for the next sixty to eighty years.

His landscapes are delicately brushed and detailed, making them a delight to the eye.
