It looks new, and never worn, and features a moon and star motif, with a secure clasp. It measures an inch. There is no bail for a chain, but a chain can easily be slipped inside the pin. Please note that the chain in the picture is for display purposes only, and will not accompany your purchase.

In Victorian times, symbolism was prevalent, with the moon representing the Feminine moon goddess and the star as guidance and direction. Some also believe it is a romantic gesture, as in "I give you the moon and the stars."
