One of the best pieces we had for long time this large bleu opaline box in a shape of an egg is splendid , it contains crystal perfume bottles with painting of Paris scenes , the bottles are complete and have their stoppers , the gild metal decor is opulent and extremely elegant with vines and leaves , notice the metal on the bottle themselves also wonderful all this sign of a high-end item intended for a upper market .Opaline during the 18 hundreds were extremely appreciated for their beauty and often sold in luxury boutique near the Louvres in the Grand Palais area , people would buy them as souvenir . Nowadays collected more than ever , they are rare and very desirable especially pieces like this exceptional by their design and size . the box is 8" L on 4" D and 4.5 H .
