This rare Elgin Edition De Luxe of Shakespeare’s Works Vol. XIV printed for subscribers only is #360 of 1,000 numbered sets. Printed in 1901 for John D. Morris & Company, Philadelphia, Pa., illustrated with tissue protected frontis with quote in red from The Tempest, other illustrations.
Appears unread. Very tight binding with no staining, no missing loose or torn pages. Some uncut pages.
Partial black leather binding with gold, blue, white and red marbled boards, gilt title and design to spine. Decorated endpapers. Gilt upper page edges, rough cut fore edges and lower edges of text block.
Very clean crisp pages.
Minor wear to leather spine ends, tips.
Amazing condition considering age of this book.
