Porsche 911 Condition Update:
After further researching the history of this vehicle, by speaking with people present at the time the car was purchased, we believe the slantnose conversion was done by Porsche on the dock when the car was brought into the US, before it ever made it to the dealership. The car was sold brand new, with a single owner. We tried to obtain the records from the dealership, but the dealership has changed owners, and those records were not carried over to the new owners.
The car has been in a climate controlled environment for at least the last 10 years. Before we attempted to start or move the car, we had the car transported to the same dealership that sold the car originally. They have gone over the car and performed the following work:
Replaced the battery, changed the oil, performed a break fluid flush, Air cleaner install, replaced hood struts, replaced windshield washer check valve, replaced windshield wipers, Recharged the AC, drained the fuel tank and put in new fuel.
Upon doing this, they detected a misfire and an intermittent no start problem. To resolve this they replaced the pressure accumulator for the fuel system and sent the CD box out for repairs. After performing these replacement/fixes, they found a secondary fuel relay under the seat was not functioning properly. It was removed and cleaned, that didn’t correct the problem. The relay will need to be replaced but a replacement was readily available in time for the auction. This will need to be addressed by new buyer. The car does start, runs and drives. The new buyer will receive a copy of all repair records, that were recently performed, upon acquisition
Additional photos are available upon request. Please contact the auction house.
The absence of a specific condition report does not imply an object is free of any defects. It can be assumed that ALL items are in vintage or antique condition and show signs of wear and age commensurate with their age and use; this might not be specifically mentioned in the condition report. Please note, all photos are also part of the condition report, and should be thoroughly examined. Please contact us PRIOR TO THE DAY OF THE AUCTION with any questions regarding the condition of specific items. Condition reports will NOT be given the day OF the auction or AFTER purchase. These reports are provided as a courtesy, we do our best do describe each item accurately, however, each item is still sold as is, where is.
