This chandelier, crafted in France during the late 1920s to early 1930s, is a signed piece by the Cristalleries de Verdun , whose renowned work was highly desired for their chandeliers and art glass pieces. The Cristalleries de Verdun was one of the most important manufacturers of lighting glassware between the two wars ( 1918-1939). The crystal factory was located at 10 rue Dame-Zabée in Verdun, it was created by Maurice Jules MODEL (Paris, 1900 -1973) in 1928. Model began its activity in 1923 with the company Model et Lange a workshop for luminous flowers and shells. From 1925 his company became Etablissements Maurice Model and the new facilities were set at 18 rue des Fêtes, until the cessation of activity during the Second World War. In the Verdun factory, Model manufactured art glassware, in particular lighting glassware.
