Description
This collection consists of twenty-four Native American lithic artifacts, primarily comprising projectile points and stone tools. The assembly includes a variety of prehistoric forms such as side-notched, corner-notched, stemmed, and lanceolate points, alongside bifacial blades and an elongated stone drill or perforator. The items are knapped from various regional lithic materials, including varieties of chert, flint, and jasper. Visible colors range from light creams and greys to dark browns and blacks, with some specimens exhibiting mottled patterns characteristic of Ohio-sourced materials like Flint Ridge or Upper Mercer (Coshocton) flint. Each artifact shows evidence of bifacial flaking through percussion and pressure knapping techniques to achieve shaped edges. The collection is housed in a professional Riker-style display mount featuring a black-finished frame, a glass top, and a red felt-lined interior. A label in the upper-left corner of the case is inscribed with Ohio.
