Additional Info: A leather volume of Philosophical Transactions containing the engraved map "A passage by land to California discovered by ye Rev Father Eusebius Francis Kino Jesuit between years 1698 and 1701". The folding map in pristine condition, measuring 9 x 9 inches. Accompanied by an article on California. This lot includes the complete "Philosophical Transactions from the year 1700 to the year 1720 abridged and disposed under General Heads..", compiled by Henry Jones this being volume 5 containing Part 1 the anatomical and medical papers and Part 2 the philological and miscellaneous papers. Printed at London and sold by G Strahan J Bowyer (and others), 1721. Numerous essays accompanied by plates, 435 pages in Part 1, 268 pages in Part 2 followed by index. Beautiful paneled leather binding with boards detached, internally Fine with some discoloration and one plate having a break at fold.
