Dual-signed commemorative Kansas Centennial First Day Cover postmarked May 10, 1961, in Council Grove, Kansas. The cover has been autographed by two beloved cast members from the classic 1939 MGM film “The Wizard of Oz”: Margaret Pellegrini, who added the inscription “Munchkin Land,” and Meinhardt Raabe, who additionally inscribed “Munchkin Coroner.” Both signatures are executed prominently in ink across the front of the cover.

Margaret Pellegrini (1923–2013) and Meinhardt Raabe (1915–2010) were among the surviving performers associated with the iconic Munchkinland sequences in “The Wizard of Oz.” Pellegrini portrayed several background Munchkin characters throughout the film, while Raabe became especially well known for his memorable role as the Munchkin Coroner. In later decades, both became popular guests at conventions and collector events celebrating classic Hollywood cinema and the enduring legacy of “The Wizard of Oz.”
