Robert Fawcett autographed 7.5 x 10” glossy black and white photograph depicting the celebrated illustrator standing in his studio beside a drafting table surrounded by art materials and tools of his trade. The photograph is inscribed along the lower margin “To Mrs. Currier with warm greetings” and signed by Fawcett in dark ink.
Near fine condition with slight brushing of ink to the signature.
Robert Fawcett (1903–1967) was one of the most respected American illustrators of the mid-20th century and a key figure in the development of modern magazine illustration. His work appeared in major publications such as “The Saturday Evening Post,” “Collier’s,” and “Cosmopolitan.” Fawcett was also a founding instructor at the Famous Artists Schools in Westport, Connecticut, where he helped train a generation of commercial illustrators. Known for his dramatic compositions and strong narrative style, he remains one of the most influential illustrators of the Golden Age of American illustration.
