Ezekiel, Bishop of Nazianzos autographed 3.5 x 4.75” glossy portrait photograph affixed with adhesive tape along the right edge to a typed letter on official Greek Archdiocese of North and South America Chicago office letterhead dated April 25, 1958. The photograph depicts Bishop Ezekiel in clerical attire holding a pastoral staff and is signed along the lower margin. The accompanying typed letter, addressed to Mrs. Donald Currier of Harvey, Illinois, thanks the recipient for her kind words regarding his Easter message and notes that the enclosed photograph is being sent for her collection. The letter is signed in ink, “Ezekiel of Nazianzos.”
Fine condition with light age toning and mailing wear. The photograph remains attached to the letter by tape along the right edge.
Bishop Ezekiel served as Bishop of Nazianzos within the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of North and South America during the mid-20th century. Stationed in Chicago, he played an important role in the pastoral and administrative life of the Greek Orthodox Church in the United States, helping to strengthen the Archdiocese’s presence and outreach among Greek-American communities during the postwar period.
