Katsu “Kats” Ogawa autographed handwritten letter signed (ALS) on a 5.5 x 3.25” postcard dated June 7, 1945. Written in bold green ink, Ogawa expresses his gratitude for an invitation but politely declines, noting he is otherwise engaged that evening.

Katsu “Kats” Ogawa (1912–1993) served as President of the Block 30 group at the Heart Mountain Japanese American incarceration camp in Wyoming during World War II. Heart Mountain was one of ten camps established under Executive Order 9066, where more than 14,000 Japanese Americans were unjustly incarcerated between 1942 and 1945. Ogawa was among the community leaders who worked to sustain organization, morale, and advocacy within the camp during this period of hardship and resilience.
