Details:
Artem Mikoyan autographed typed Russian-language greeting document dated April 28, 1961, addressed to Soviet Aviation Colonel-General F. A. Agaltsov. The document conveys May Day greetings and well wishes for health and continued success “in strengthening the might of our Motherland.” Signed in ink at the conclusion by famed Soviet aircraft designer Artem I. Mikoyan beneath his printed title of “General Designer.”
Fine condition.
Artem Mikoyan (1905–1970) was the legendary Soviet aircraft designer best known as co-founder of the Mikoyan-Gurevich design bureau, creator of the world-famous MiG series of fighter aircraft. Under his leadership, the bureau produced some of the most important military aircraft of the Cold War era, including the MiG-15, MiG-17, MiG-21, and numerous other jet fighters flown by Soviet and allied air forces worldwide. Documents personally signed by Mikoyan are highly desirable due to his central role in twentieth-century aviation history and the relative scarcity of his autograph material.
