The sheet features a portrait image of Gabreski beside a detailed printed summary of his military accomplishments. Gabreski has signed the piece across the upper center in blank ink.

Francis S. Gabreski (1919–2002), widely known as “Gabby,” was among the most celebrated fighter pilots in United States Air Force history. A son of Polish immigrants, Gabreski became the leading American ace in the European Theater during World War II and later added to his combat record during Korea. Over the course of his distinguished career he earned numerous honors including the Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross, and Air Medal. Following his military retirement, Gabreski remained a prominent figure in aviation history and was inducted into the National Aviation Hall of Fame.
