Tom C. Clark autographed 7.25 x 10” black and white portrait photograph depicting the future Supreme Court Justice seated in a formal studio pose wearing a suit and bow tie. Clark has inscribed the lower left margin in dark ink, “Best wishes to Mrs. Donald Currier,” and signed “Tom C. Clark,” dated “9/18/58.”

Tom Campbell Clark (1899–1977) served as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States from 1949 to 1967. Prior to his appointment by Harry S. Truman, Clark served as the U.S. Attorney General and played a key role in shaping federal law enforcement during the early Cold War period. His tenure on the Court included participation in several landmark civil rights decisions, including the unanimous ruling in Brown v. Board of Education that declared racial segregation in public schools unconstitutional.
