STS-36 full crew autographed 10 x 8” NASA color photograph depicting the five-member crew of Space Shuttle Atlantis posed in front of the orbiter on the launch pad. The photograph has been signed by all crew members: John O. Creighton, John H. Casper, Pierre J. Thuot, Richard M. Mullane, and David C. Hilmers. The image is additionally inscribed, “Joe — Best Wishes from the STS-36 Crew!”

STS-36 was flown aboard Space Shuttle Atlantis from February 28 through March 4, 1990, and was a classified Department of Defense mission conducted for the United States Air Force. Due to the secretive nature of the payload and mission objectives, many operational details remain undisclosed, though the flight is believed to have involved the deployment of a reconnaissance satellite connected to national security operations during the closing years of the Cold War.

The crew consisted of Commander John O. Creighton, Pilot John H. Casper, and Mission Specialists Pierre J. Thuot, Richard M. Mullane, and David C. Hilmers.
