Sir Edward Heath (1916–2005) served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1970 to 1974. A leader of the Conservative Party, he is best known for leading Britain into the European Economic Community (EEC) in 1973. Heath was also an accomplished musician and yachtsman, winning the 1971 Admiral’s Cup for Britain. His signature represents a key figure in postwar British and European political history.
