Acetate discs were produced in extremely limited numbers for internal mastering and label review, with very few surviving beyond their intended use. Featuring two standout tracks from Prince at the height of his mid-1980s creative peak, this rare Warner Bros. acetate pairs the psychedelic funk anthem “Paisley Park” with the fan-favorite B-side “She’s Always in My Hair,” widely regarded as one of Prince’s greatest non-album recordings. Released during the era surrounding the landmark album “Around the World in a Day,” these recordings capture Prince at one of the most adventurous and experimental points of his career, as he deliberately pushed beyond the sound and commercial expectations established by “Purple Rain.” Original studio acetates from Prince’s most influential period remain exceptionally scarce and highly sought-after by serious collectors.
