Incredibly rare Elektra Sound Rec. single-sided “Somebody to Love” original acetate disc. The disc label reads “Queen 7" MONO Somebody to Love.” Acetate measuring approximately 10" x 10" and in fine condition. Does not come with original master sleeve. Acetate discs were produced in extremely limited numbers for internal mastering and label review, with very few surviving beyond their intended use. An exceptional and highly coveted studio artifact tied to Queen’s monumental mid-1970s creative peak. Released in 1976 on the landmark album “A Day at the Races,” “Somebody to Love” is widely regarded as one of Freddie Mercury’s greatest vocal achievements, showcasing the band’s intricate multi-tracked harmonies and ambitious gospel-inspired production. Original Queen acetates from this era are extraordinarily scarce, with surviving examples representing some of the most desirable and historically significant pre-release material in all of classic rock collecting.
