1818 Half Eagle PCGS MS63 Plus CAC Capped Bust
This 1818 $5 Capped Bust half eagle is a rare BD-1, Small Bust Large Diameter Type 2 variety, certified by PCGS with a grade of MS63+ and verified by CAC. Struck in Philadelphia, it features John Reich's distinctive "notched" star point on each of the 13 obverse stars, a hallmark of the 1818 BD-1 variety. The coin displays attractive antique-gold coloration and sharply struck details, offering excellent eye appeal. This example is from the esteemed Harry W. Bass, Jr. Collection and is one of only 50 to 65 known pieces of this variety. Condition is pre-owned and uncirculated.
