Rex Ray was a German-born American artist, whose artistic career began in San Francisco when he attended San Francisco Art Institute. Ray created album covers for musicians such as David Bowie, U-2, Talking Heads, The Residents, and more. Luminous (2010) features glowing, flame-like shapes that suggest energy and transformation. The pigment print on Hahnemühle paper ensures sharp detail and rich tonal saturation. Measuring 30 by 22 inches and presented unframed, the work is part of a limited edition of 25, this piece being number 3/25. The composition reflects Ray’s signature blend of organic imagery and graphic precision. The artwork is signed and in very good condition, with clean paper and excellent color retention.
