Description: Roman Empire. Constantine I the Great, AD 307–337. AE3 Nummus. Ca. 19 mm. Obverse: Diademed bust of Constantine I right, imperial legend around. Reverse: GLORIA EXERCITVS, two soldiers standing facing one another, holding spears and shields, with two military standards between them. A highly collectible bronze nummus of Constantine the Great, one of the most influential emperors in Roman history. The reverse type GLORIA EXERCITVS celebrates the glory of the Roman army and the strength of imperial military power. With its attractive ancient patina, classic late Roman design, and strong historical connection to the Constantinian era, this coin is an excellent addition to any Roman Imperial collection.
