Antique Pairpoint "Puffy" Reverse Painted Table lamp
early 20th century, USA
The Pairpoint Corporation of New Bedford, MA pioneered this custom "blow-out" mold style. A three dimensional floral shapes are physically molded outward into high relief, rather than being flat glass.
The rich pink and red flowers, green foliage , and background detailing were entirely hand-painted on the inside surface of the glass. The scalloped base and slender column are classic Art Nouveau metalwork from the company's silver and metal work division.
