Large Framed 1930s Needlepoint Cross Stitch Mallards in Flight on Linen in Hand Made Oak Frame

Description

Exceptionally handsome piece of early 20th century American folk art. This needlework on linen depicts two mallards taking flight over a pond accented with cattails. Initialed by the stitcher and dated 1938. The frame is beautifully constructed of vividly grained oak, likely by a home woodworker. A one of a kind piece for a traditional home, man's den or lake house. Frame has glass panel intact. Wired for hanging on back.
