These one of a kind Claro Walnut Burl pieces, from tree's that for centuries were part of the Northern California landscape, were harvested about fifty years ago, waiting for their primordial forses to tell their story, inscribed in the memory of their fibers. Claro Walnut is the most desired of all walnut species. Claro Walnut is almost exclusive to Northern California. General John Bidwell, a pioneer, planted the first Claro Walnut, grafted with Bastogne Walnut tree orchards around Chico, in the early 1850's. It is the orchards that are preserving the Claro Walnut species as wild fires ravage the forests all over California.

The legs of the coffee table shown is fabricated in a manner that they can be unscrewed for shipping.

Condition Notes: The wood has varied shapes, there are cracks thru a portion of the top, however that is natural to such large burl pieces.
The edge of the burl has been left natural, only the outer bark was removed, the inner fibers are coated with a heavy
proprietory finish to soften the tips. The natural white oak legs are handhewn and finished with a clear lacquer finish.
