Early 20th-century photo frame. Surrounded by two dragons chasing the flaming jewel. A horizontal format with a back stand and brass eyelets for a silk rope hanger. Gilt and silver wash over a metal frame. The frame measures 13" wide by 11" tall. The window is 8" by 5.5". Good weight and condition of the backing. Darkened by age and rubbing. wonderful antique condition.
The condition is strong, replaced the backstand with black leatherette stand and nylon ribbon to stabilize the back. Inside the glass is a replaced panel floating behind the metal face ( see the view of the back of the dragon face front frame.) the metal is likely white brass, heavy and strong, topped by an amber wash to get the golden color. The back panel is hinged to the surround at the top and locks in place with 4 swivel tabs.
