Description
Set of four plein-art watercolors by New York artist, Stanley C. Brodey (1920 - 2001, Long Island, New York).
Brodey drew inspiration from his native Long Island scenery, capturing the shoreline, beach scenes, architecture, and fields.
He was involved in many artist associations on Long Island, and showed regularly at galleries nationwide.
A pinnacle moment in his career was showing at the 1964 New York World's Fair.
His work is included in the prestigious private collections of DuPont, Rockefeller, J.P. Morgan, to name a few.
This set made in 1962 is composed of four boat studies titled "Marine Vista," "Lobster Pots," and "Marine Prelude," "Boat," respectively.
Soiling / edge losses / general wear to the original mats (much of which can be concealed by the addition of a frame, but one could benefit from a new mat).
